What Does G7 Mean for PrePress & Printers?

G7 is a new method for calibrating Presses and Proofing Systems by measuring spectral data and using gray balance instead of just dot gain to achieve a closer visual match between proof and press and multiple presses. Now that these spectral devices are common and inexpensive we are not restricted to only measuring density values that do not account for differences in hue. This methodology can be used with both the new SWOP standards as well as commercial GRACoL.
